In this post I would like to review the best known affiliate programs that allow regular members to join and advertise affiliate sponsors for a return. In general there are two types of revenue sharing programs:
Commission-based - is where you as affiliate will be entitled to earn anywhere from 20% to 50% of online revenue that gaming sites get from players sent by you. This revenue share program may have a higher return than CPA but it may also be less profitable if new members that you send don’t end up returning to the site again.
CPA - or cost per action, is a simple model where you get a one time deposit of anywhere from $25 to $250 for each player that signs up through your affiliate link. Usually the only requirement is for the new player to make a minimum deposit that varies from site to site. This is a sure way to earn money for all your marketing and advertising efforts for each member that you send, no matter how long that member will stick around with your sponsor.
Affiliate programs are the main source of new member traffic for online poker and online casino websites. These programs have stood the test of time even from pre-internet era where companies have paid individuals for referring new customers to them. It is a single, no risk, minimal effort marketing model that allows poker and casino companies experience large numbers of new members coming onboard each and every day.
Poker Affiliate Programs

I, Dmitri Sennikov, co-creator of GreatestPokerRooms.com is glad to announce that we are back to marketing our service to poker affiliates. Initially our focus was on getting the big players to sign up and post their ads on our main page. After some unsuccessful trials we have changed our strategy to focus our attention on average poker affiliates who earn income by selling somebody else’s poker-related products. Such products include game room membership, poker books, poker memorabilia, or simply advertising for upcoming poker rolls and championships.
If you are an affiliate and would like to post your ad for FREE on our web site, please do so by joining GreatestPokerRooms, hurry before all boxes are taken!
We have recorded a video of how easy it is to post your affiliate banner on our homepage. It will only take 7 minutes of your time. What have you got to lose?
We would like to remind you that we mean business and are growing quickly. Your initial support is of utmost importance to us. Post your banner ad for free that will point to online casino, poker room or another poker related web site.
Below you may find a video clip summarizing the Casino Affiliate Convention that occurred in Amsterdam in May of 2007. It has broken the record for the largest affiliate convention in the industry which means we are in the right business. Topics discussed were search engine optimization, link building, and increasing player retention rates for the affiliate deligates.
This is an encouragement that we will be able to provide traffic to all those affiliate partners seeking targetted customers, all over the world. We are on a good path, growing steadily, and it is just the matter of time when we will need to upgrade our server because we won’t be able to handle all of the traffic.
Professor77 has found a glitch in Titan Poker tournament software where he was moved to a room full of people who are basically sitting out and let all the hands go through. The only thing professor77 needs to do is raise on every hand and the pot is his. Very interesting “glitch” as professor77 puts it. As he explains it, all he had to do was sit out for about 10 to 15 minutes and that’s when he got moved.

It has already been 3 weeks since us coming online. We are progressing well within our initial plans but we do understand it may take up to 6 months to fully get noticed. We have not launched our public advertising as of yet because we are waiting for at least some of our adboxes to be populated by online poker and casino web site ads. It is our hope at this moment that at least a small number of publishers will see some value in our service.
As we are located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada we decided to try our best with some of the local poker companies. Steve Black, president of Suited Media Inc., was kind enough to be the first one to reply to our offer. With great interest in poker industry and great successes in the past, Steve Black and his colleagues have developed PokerSpace, a brand new community built exclusively for poker enthusiasts. Although their software is currently in alpha release (i.e. registration is allowed by invitation only), we are hoping to have the support of such a great innovative company once a full version of their software is released!
We have also received positive feedback from several other well known online poker and casino web sites. We are currently trying to assure our future publishers of our benefit to them. The main setback in this is that at this moment we do not have much traffic coming in on our site as we are waiting to go full out public. It will take us time and careful planning to turn this into a successful venture.
From now on, we will be posting our news, interesting poker happenings, and other articles on topics like traffic acquisition and entrepreneurship every week on Tuesdays. This will keep us organized and give you an incentive to come back to visit our site.
If you have any comments or suggestions please leave a comment and we will be glad to get in touch with you if needed.
It has taken a week but we are now available on Google search! We are currently picking out the best keywords that we should target for Greatest Poker Rooms and our content optimization for those keywords will follow.
Along with our progress report, we have started contacting companies to start publishing content and filling up our FREE adboxes. Once at least 30% of FREE boxes are covered, we will push forward with advertising to online poker and casino fans world-wide using the following marketing model:
YouTube - getting an amateur video clip covering main concepts of our web site shall prove as a clearly worth-while marketing tool.
Facebook - it is THE greatest way to reach out to 18+ year olds; we will begin with cost-free viral marketing followed by paid advertising.
Poker forums - we will not let spamming get out of control and as such we will only participate in forums that will allow for our promotion to occur.
Bloggers’ community - we will conduct a trial promotion of our site to well known bloggers focusing on our entrepreneurial idea of No Risk, No Limit advertising, and of course emphasizing on publishers that we will have acquired by then.
Public link sharing web sites like Digg.com and del.icio.us - analysis is being done as to how to achieve the best results with such portals. For example, it is a known fact that links receiving 100 votes over span of two days will not do as well as a link that spots 25 votes over 15 minutes! We will post the strategies that will be implemented.
It has taken a long while since the idea inception but we are now online. Most of the quirks and little bugs have been worked out. Now we have an exciting journey to look forward to in hopes of getting acknowledged for our work.
As we progress and acquire traffic, we will be periodically posting the things we try. We have made up a plan of action but so much depends on what we actually do that we decided to simply go along with it and get the best of what happens.
The goal of this project is to have fun, and to tell you honestly, we’ve already had so much of it!
